Online Thermoelectric Modelling Tool for PCR Design Engineers

Laird Thermal Systems has launched an online simulation tool for PCR thermal cycling applications. Thermoelectric coolers produced for thermal cycling, such as the PowerCycling PCX Series, are utilised for Real-Time PCR to precisely temperature control DNA amplification to three temperature set points. Constructed with next-generation thermoelectric material, the series offers faster ramp rates and higher reliability than conventional thermoelectric coolers to notably extend field use of molecular diagnostic devices.

Thermoelectric Coolers for Security Cameras

Imaging sensors and other sensitive camera components require active cooling to keep operating temperatures below their maximum limit, ensuring high-quality images and long-life operation.
Laird Thermal Systems' HiTemp ETX Series Thermoelectric Cooler offers a high COP, boosts cooling capacity by up to 10% and is tested to withstand temperatures up to 150°C exceeding most outdoor applications.

Spot Cooling for Industrial Lasers

Industrial laser applications require a stable temperature to ensure maximum performance. Thermoelectric coolers provide spot cooling for laser optics to deliver robust, low-power and maintenance-free operation. By utilizing advanced thermoelectric materials, the UltraTEC™ UTX Series achieves greater heat pumping capacity and a higher thermal insulating barrier compared to standard semiconductor materials, making it ideal for spot cooling of industrial laser applications.

Thermoelectric Coolers for Projection Lasers

Temperature stabilization is critical for high-power laser projectors used in cinemas and light shows and heat must be quickly dissipated. Laird Thermal Systems UltraTEC™ UTX series is a new generation thermoelectric cooler ideal for high heat pumping applications such as laser projectors. The robust module construction features a higher thermal insulating barrier and deliver a 10% boost in cooling capacity compared to standard thermoelectric coolers.

Thermoelectric Coolers for Projection Lasers

Temperature control in high-power laser projectors is critical to ensure proper functionality, long life operation and crisp image projection. Not only can chillers provide a cooling solution for many projectors, but ambient liquid systems with thermoelectric coolers offer simplified spot-cooling to provide superior temperature stabilization that maintains peak performance of the laser.

Spot Cooling for Industrial Lasers & Optics

Introduction

With an increasing demand for advanced industrial manufacturing, laser systems have become the most important fabrication tool. While high powered lasers such as CO2 lasers are used for coarse cuts of metals, ultrafast lasers are used for fine cuts and polishing of semiconductor materials. Fiber lasers have the versatility to do both. In today’s consumer electronics, electrification of vehicles and green energy are driving the need for advanced laser machining and additive machining of complex materials.
