Laird Thermal Systems’ new chiller ensures quality resolution for digital microscopes

The advanced design of Laird Thermal Systems’ new thermoelectric-based Nextreme NRC400 Performance Chiller provides a reliable cooling solution for digital light microscope applications. This next generation recirculating chiller achieves 400 W of cooling capacity and a temperature control stability to within ±0.05° C under steady-state conditions to ensure high resolution images and long-life operation with zero global warming potential.

Thermoelectric Assemblies Optimize Thermal Performance in any Outdoor Environment

Laird Thermal Systems has introduced a series of thermoelectric assemblies (TEAs) designed for use in outdoor environments. The Outdoor Cooler Series are compact (cooling objects via convection) air-to-air TEAs said to provide a lower total cost of ownership by maintaining the appropriate temperature range using minimal energy due to its high coefficient of performance (COP).

Heating and Cooling for Incubator Chambers

Incubator chambers require a thermal solution to create optimum conditions for cell growth. Thermoelectrics provide a more reliable, efficient, and environmentally friendly solution compared to conventional compressor-based technologies.

Active Cooling of Optical Transceivers

Introduction

Tier 1 OEM’s in telecom infrastructure market are designing the next standard for telecommunications, 5G. It will provide faster data transmission speeds than current LTE (4G) systems, approaching broadband speeds achieved with landlines. The latency will be much lower, reducing the number of times packets need to be resent. This will be great for mobile users in densely populated areas trying to stream movies, music or live TV on their smart devices.

Thermoelectric Cooler Assemblies for Reagent Storage

Introduction

Maintaining a temperature well below ambient, and monitoring this temperature carefully, are critical to extending the shelf life of reagents used for in vitro diagnostics. Most reagents require refrigeration and would spoil within hours at room temperatures. Reagents can degrade and become contaminated by microbial growth, which can affect test integrity results. Reagents can also be negatively impacted if they undergo too many freeze and thaw cycles.
